Berlin - Bayern Munich captain Mark van Bommel has extended his contract with German major league club is a year older until 2011, the club said on Wednesday.
Dutch player van Bommel, who joined Bayern in 2006 from Barcelona, has a role in his team move into the Champions League quarter-final and their return to the top of the Bundesliga standings this season.
